Pussycat Dolls are in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Junkonline.com - It’s only days before the MTV Asia Awards, and the first of the many international acts have already landed in town. Today, the Pussycat Dolls previewed a few tracks from their upcoming album Dolls Domination (set to release on September 15) at their South East Asian press conference.

The lead single off Dolls Domination, ‘When I Grow Up’ (produced by Rodney Jerkins), is already making waves on the charts, making it the Pussycat Dolls’ fourth top ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Among the producers they worked with on the album are Cee-Lo, Scott Storch, Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic), Darkchild and of course, Timbaland. Besides the lead single, other tracks include ‘Away’, ‘Barely Breathe’, ‘Bottle Pop’, ‘Fly The World’, ‘If I Were A Man’, ‘In Person’ and ‘Psycho’. Look out for a faux Brit accent on the track ‘Watchamacallit’ (sp?).

At the press conference Nicole, Ashley, Melody, Kimberly and Jessica also discussed Kim Kardashian’s upcoming stint as a guest Pussycat Doll. The girls also revealed that they will embark on a world tour that will bring them back to the SEA region (some time in March/April 09).

The girls trying on the sarongs they were presented to by their label, Universal Music. Nicole wants everyone to know she is wearing a sarong. Please don’t think she’s wearing a wack double layered outfit.

PCD are back in Malaysia for MTV Asia Awards performance

E-Central - American girl group Pussycat Dolls has returned to Malaysia, and is set to raise temperatures at Genting Highlands when it opens the MTV Asia Awards 2008 tomorrow.

It has been two years since the girls performed in Kuala Lumpur, and besides their new music the members also feature new looks.

Jessica Sutta, who used to be a brunette, has reddish coloured locks, while Kimberly Wyatt is now sporting short hair. They are also now a quintet following the departure of Carmit Bachar earlier this year.

The Pussycat Dolls posing for photographers during their press conference at KL Hilton Thursday.

“When the Pussycat Dolls explosion took off, we put three years of our lives into making sure we planted the seeds into the soil,” said lead Pussycat Nicole Scherzinger.

“(Then), we were able to take some time off, spend a bit of time with the family, and do a bit of self-searching. The time off was so healthy for us because now it’s all of us again and we’re coming back with a fire stronger than before.”

The group, made up of Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta and Kimberly Wyatt, shot to fame in 2005 with their debut single Don’t Cha. They girls previewed a number of songs from their upcoming Doll Domination to the media yesterday.

The album features their latest single When I Grow Up, which is making waves on music charts worldwide.

Pussycat Dolls will join artistes scheduled to perform at the MTV Asia Awards, which will be held in Malaysia for the first time.

Pussycat Dolls & “Nashville Star” Don’t Clique

26 Jun 2008Filed Under: News, Rumors by 0 Comments // Discuss it on NF FORUMS

TMZ.com - “American Idol” clone “Nashville Star” wanted Pussycat Dolls to perform on Monday’s show, but instead wound up with their lingerie-clad, gyrating, girl group clone Danity Kane!

Sources tell TMZ that, as of last Thursday, the Pussycats confirmed they would perform on the show as part of that night’s “Pop Goes Country” theme and their appearance started to get promoted. But, on Friday, we’re told, Interscope tried to get PCD’s tween label mates, Clique Girlz, booked on the show.

“Nashville Star” was not interested in the 14-and-under trio and passed on both acts. Dontcha wish you kept your mouth shut?! Luckily, the music industry is ripe with identical-looking, trannylicious, whored-out pop tarts and Danity Kane came to the rescue. Not that anyone would have known the difference.

WBIR.com - When I tuned in late to Monday’s “Nashville Star,” I thought I caught a performance of the scantily-clad female pop group Pussycat Dolls. I was wrong, but only because the NBC reality show cancelled the pop group’s booking — and replaced them with a similar group.

“We booked the Pussycat Dolls last Thursday, and then Friday (their label, Interscope) wanted to add Clique Girlz, which didn’t make sense for the show,” says the show’s publicist, Carrie Simons.

She says the show cancelled the Dolls and replaced them with Danity Kane. That’s the group that won Diddy’s MTV reality show, “Making the Band 3.”

On Monday, “we’re going back to country,” says Simons, adding that the contestants get surprise visits from their family.

She explains that the pop group was booked because Monday’s episode was pop goes country, which meant the contestants sang pop songs in a country manner.

She says the country music talent search show, which airs live from Nashville, has to “balance out country enough with people who think it’s still country and western, but it’s not.”

“It has to be broad enough to get people who don’t thnk they like country music to watch,” she says, adding that once they start watching the show, they’ll be reminded that they enjoyed country performers like Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler on “American Idol.”

Lol, like Danity Kane does make sense with countrymusic.

    “When I Grow Up”-beat from the 60’s!

11 Jun 2008Filed Under: News, Video / Audio by 0 Comments // Discuss it on NF FORUMS

I can’t believe this. The beat from “When I Grow Up” is actually from a song by “The Yardbirds” with “He’s Always There”, made IN THE SIXTIES (1967)! Listen and compare with our mp3 player.

When I Grow Up Video - June 13th!

6 Jun 2008Filed Under: News by 1 Comment // Discuss it on NF FORUMS

According to Mtv.com the video for the Pussycat Dolls song, “When I Grow Up”, which features a cameo by our dearly beloved Miss Brit, will premiere on MTV on June 13th.

    MTV -
Her albums might not sell the way they used to, but Britney Spears is turning into the queen of the red-hot cameo. According to People magazine, Brit filmed a bit part in the video for the Pussycat Dolls’ “When I Grow Up” clip.

An unnamed source told the magazine that Spears had a “small part” in the video, which was shot Wednesday in Los Angeles. A “set source” told UsMagazine.com that Spears does not interact with the group in the video, and shot her scenes at the Warner Bros. lot Wednesday while the Dolls filmed in Hollywood. “In the scene shot [Wednesday], Britney is driving in a car,” the source said. “They all wave at each other as they are passing in traffic that is it. Of course, Britney looks hot and blonde. It is a very short sequence, but [Britney] had a lot of fun with it. Britney really likes the Dolls’ music and when she saw them on the MTV [Movie Awards], she was totally down to do the video.”

Spokespeople for Spears and the Dolls could not be reached for comment at press time.

Coming on the heels of her two-episode arc on “How I Met Your Mother,” the Dolls shoot represents Spears’ latest attempt to ease back into the spotlight, after spending much of the past year dealing with a series of personal crises. In fact, her second appearance on the sitcom went so well that onetime Brit doubter Neil Patrick Harris recently told People that “the door is open for her” to come back for a third go-round.

After a sizzling performance of “When I Grow Up” at the MTV Movie Awards last weekend, we’ll be seeing plenty of PCD in the upcoming weeks. They’ll appear on the June 12 episode of “So You Think You Can Dance,” and the video for “When I Grow Up” will premiere on the new MTV video show “F’N MTV,” which is hosted by Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, on the 13th.

According to a source at their label, PCD’s yet-untitled second album, featuring production from Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins and Sean Garrett, will be out in September.

Britney Spears Looks “Hot and Blonde” in Pussycat Dolls Video

6 Jun 2008Filed Under: News by 1 Comment // Discuss it on NF FORUMS

Britney Spears is making a cameo in a Pussycat Dolls video — but isn’t actually interacting with the group on set.

The 26-year-old shot her scenes for the tune “When I Grow Up” at the WB lot in Burbank, CA Wednesday while the Dolls filmed in Hollywood.

“It was carefully planned out,” a set source told Usmagazine.com.

“In the scene shot [Wednesday], Britney is driving in a car,” the set source told Us. “They all wave at each other as they are passing in traffic — that is it.

“It is genius and you will love it!” said the source.

“Of course, Britney looks hot and blonde,” the insider added.

The Pussycat Dolls filmed their scene in a blue convertible Chevy Imapla. “They are singing and in traffic — looking hot,” the insider explained.

“It is a very short sequence, but she [Britney] had a lot of fun with it,” the source told Us. Britney really likes the Dolls’ music and when she saw them on the MTV [Movie Awards], she was totally down to do the video.”

People confirms it: Britney will appear on the video

5 Jun 2008Filed Under: News by 0 Comments // Discuss it on NF FORUMS

Her next album may not be dropping any time soon, but Britney Spears is dipping her toes back into the music scene, filming a cameo for the new Pussycat Dolls video.

It’s a small part,” says a source about the popstar’s visit to the L.A. set of the group’s video shoot for their new single, When I Grow Up, on Wednesday. Possibly saving her trademark moves for her own album, Spears was not expected to dance or perform with the girls in the video.
